The 20th Anniversary Celebration of the Toyama-Oregon Sister State relationship

 

 

 

   On Wednesday, November 2nd, the Consulate General of Japan in Portland hosted a reception with members of the Toyama Prefecture Friendship delegation, led by Toyama Prefecture Vice Governor Mr. Uede and Toyama Prefectural Assembly Vice-Chairman Mr. Yokoyama, who were in Portland to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Toyama-Oregon Sister-State relationship. First Lady of Oregon, Ms. Sylvia Hayes and Mayor of Forest Grove Mr. Peter Truax were among the nearly 70 guests who gathered to encourage tourism and trade and to celebrate 20 years of friendship between Toyama and Oregon. A message of appreciation and congratulations from Governor John Kitzhaber was also presented.
