Japanese and American Flag-Raising Ceremony in Honor of the Emperor of Japan's Birthday

On December 23rd, 2011 at 10:00am, the City of Portland held a flag-raising ceremony in honor of the birthday of His Majesty the Emperor of Japan in front of the Portland City Hall.

Mr. Takamichi Okabe, Consul General of Japan in Portland, and representatives of Japan-related orgaizations such as Nikkeijinkai and the Japan-America Society of Oregon participated in the ceremony. Consul General Okabe raised the Japanese flag and Commissioner Randy Leonard raised the American flag at the ceremony.
