RESEARCH STUDENT SCHOLARSHIP IN JAPAN
Now Accepting Applications
The Government of Japan offers a certain number of scholarships to persons who wish to study at Japanese universities as research students. All of the major fields of study in humanities, social sciences, natural sciences and others are available.
Scholarship students will receive a monthly allowance of approximately 152,000 yen, transportation to and from Japan, an arrival allowance, school fees and accommodations. They will study at a Japanese university selected by the Japanese Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (Monbukagakusho), from April or October 2013, to March 2015 (including a half year Japanese language training period if deemed necessary).
Applicants must be U.S. citizens, and be under 35 years of age as of April 1, 2013. Applicants must also be university or college graduates. Other eligibility requirements may apply.
Applications must be submitted by Friday, June 15th, 2012 to the Consulate-General of Japan in Portland, Oregon. Qualified candidates will be contacted and asked to visit the Consulate-General of Japan in Portland sometime in late June for an interview and examinations.

TEACHER TRAINING SCHOLARSHIP IN JAPAN
No Longer Accepting Applications
The Government of Japan offers a certain number of scholarships to qualified teachers who wish to study at Japanese colleges or universities to further their professional development in the field of education.
Scholarship students will receive a monthly allowance of approximately 152,000 yen, transportation to and from Japan, an arrival allowance, school fees and accommodations. They will study at a Japanese college or university selected by the Japanese Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (Monbukagakusho) beginning October, 2011. Classes will be taken in Japanese and language training will be provided for students who require it.
Applicants must be U.S. citizens born on or after April 2, 1977. Applicants must also have at least five years of teaching experience at the primary or secondary level. Other eligibility requirements may apply.

JAPANESE STUDIES SCHOLARSHIP IN JAPAN
No Longer Accepting Applications
The Government of Japan, offers a certain number of scholarships to qualified applicants who wish to study Japanese language and other Japan-related subjects at colleges or universities in Japan.
Scholarship students will receive a monthly allowance of approximately 125,000 yen, transportation to and from Japan, an arrival allowance, school fees and accommodations. They will study at a Japanese college or university selected by the Japanese Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (Monbukagakusho) beginning October, 2011. Classes will be taken in Japanese and intensive language training is provided.
Applicants must be born between April 2, 1982 and April 1, 1994. Other eligibility requirements may apply.
