Awarding The Foreign Minister’s Commendation in Honor of the 70th Anniversary of the End of the War II to the U. S. Wheat Associates

On Friday, January 8th, the ceremony to award the Foreign Minister’s Commendation in Honor of the 70th Anniversary of the End of the War II to U. S. Wheat Associates was held in downtown Portland.
About 40 people, including staff of U. S. Wheat Associates, the Oregon Wheat Commission, the Wheat Marketing Center, wheat transporters, and wheat exporters joined in the award celebration.

At the ceremony, Consul General Furusawa mentioned that the Japan office of U. S. Wheat Associates will reach its 60th anniversary this year, and praised their contribution to the stable export of wheat to Japan. Consul General also offered his wishes for a continuous, stable supply of high quality wheat to Japan.

Mr. Wirsching, Vice president and Director of U. S. Wheat Associates, expressed his delight to receive the award on behalf of the association, and he stated that the Japanese market is the single largest and most important market for them and that they will maintain their efforts to keep continuous, stable exports to Japan flowing.
