Sakura-kai Awarded Grant for Japanese Language Education Activities from the Japan Foundation, Los Angeles

Sakura-kai was founded in 1995 as volunteer-based school for the teaching of the Japanese language and in 2006 became a non-profit organization dedicated to sharing Japanese language education with the Portland community.

For the 2016 fiscal year, the Japan Foundation, Los Angeles has provided a grant to Sakura-kai to support the salaries of Japanese language teachers. The grant amount was presented by Consul General Uchiyama in a ceremony at the Consular Office of Japan in Portland on August 24th.
