On Saturday, June 25th the Chinese, Japanese and Korean communities in Portland, with generous support from the Port of Portland, NIKE and the Portland Art Museum, were pleased to present a “Dances of Three Nations”. The second annual event took place at 2:00 pm in the Kridel Grand Ballroom of the Portland Art Museum.
The event was free and open to the public. Over 400 people attended and there was a VIP reception held afterwards.
The idea for the event originated with officials from three Portland area offices: Jin Lan, President of Oregon-China Sister State Relations Council; Kijiro Uchiyama, Consul General of Japan in Portland; and Greg Caldwell, Honorary Consul for the Republic of Korea in Portland.
Three talented dances were Xuan Cheng (China), Diana Hinatsu (Japan), and Seung-Hee Ji (Korea). An active in the Oregon dance community.
