There is great potential to create amazing opportunities by expanding and strengthening the relationship between Idaho and Japan. During the networking event on July 23, 2021 in Boise, Consul-General Masaki Shiga encouraged people to expand trade between Idaho and Japan so that the flow of people and information increases, bringing them closer together in all ways. He explained the strengths of business environment in Japan and said, "Connecting with Japan, with all the benefits we can offer, is a profitable path to take. I hope a cooperative business relationship that benefits both Japan and the United States, including Idaho, will continue to grow."

More than 100 guests including State Senator Kelly Anthon attended the event at JUMP in Boise ahead of the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games Opening Event in the afternoon.
