Tokyo 2020 Olympics Kickoff in Boise, Idaho
As the Tokyo 2020 Olympics kicked off on July 23, 2021, citizens in Boise enjoyed Japanese Taiko drumming, Kendo and Karate performances, inspirational message by former Olympians, Japanese cuisine, learning Origami and Japanese Calligraphy, while watching the Olympics Opening Ceremony on the big screen at JUMP (Jack's Urban Meeting Place). Members of the 2019 Japanese American Leadership Delegation (JALD) from all over the United States were also in attendance.
Our special thanks go to the JUMP staff, collaborators at KTVB Idaho and our friends of the Japanese as well as the Japanese American communities for helping to prepare this wonderful event.
