Consul General Todoroki’s Idaho Business Trip (Presentation of the Letter of Appointment to Honorary Consul of Japan in Boise)

2026/5/27

On May 21, Consul General Todoriki visited Boise, Idaho, and presented the letter of appointment to Mr. Nicolas Kawaguchi, who was appointed Honorary Consul of Japan in Boise as of January 1. In addition, Consul General Todoriki extended his congratulations to Idaho Senate President Pro Tem Kelly Anthon – who was in attendance and received the Foreign Minister's Commendation in August last year – and presented him with the Foreign Minister's Commendation award. The event was attended by local political and business figures, including Idaho Governor Brad Little and his wife, Idaho Secretary of State Phil McGrane, and Boise Mayor Lauren McLean, as well as members of the local Japanese community, who enjoyed pleasant conversation with Consul General Todoriki.
Lastly, we look forward to the continued success of both individuals in further deepening Japan-U.S. and Japan-Idaho relations. Congratulations!
