2027 JAPANESE AMERICAN LEADERSHIP DELEGATION TO JAPAN

We are now accepting applications for the 2027 Japanese American Leadership Delegation (JALD) invitation program to Japan. The JALD program provides the opportunity for a select group of Japanese American leaders from across the United States to travel to Japan to engage with Japanese leaders in the business, government, academic, non-profit and cultural sectors.
Applications must be submitted via email to your local consular office by Monday, August 17, 2026.
Please see the links below for a list of consular offices in the United States. Applicants residing in Oregon or Southern Idaho should submit applications to the Consular Office of Japan in Portland.

The itinerary for the 2027 delegation will include travel to Tokyo and the Tokyo Metropolitan area. Transportation, hotel and meals will be provided. Individuals selected must be able to travel to Japan from February 6 (Sat) to February 13 (Sat), 2027, and attend a mandatory orientation in Los Angeles from January 15 (Fri) to January 16 (Sat), 2027.
