Spring 2021 Decoration Conferred on Mr. Henry Shigehiro Sakamoto

Consul-General Masaki Shiga visited Mr. Henry Sakamoto at his home in Portland on December 5th, and presented the decoration of the Order of the Rising Sun, Gold and Silver Rays to him. Due to the COVID-19 restrictions, the conferment ceremony was held with a limited number of his family members.

Mr. Sakamoto was being awarded the Order of the Rising Sun, Gold and Silver Rays for his contributions to preserving the history of Japanese Americans in the United States and promoting mutual understanding between Japan and the United States.
